Week 13 day 7 bump

back home

After a world wind in New Orleans we are back home. Two sweet friends gave me maternity clothes which I appreciate to the umpth degree considering the only pants I've been wearing and purchased were $40 buckaroos. New clothes ....yay! I didn't bring my camera so I'm waiting to get the photos from my family. I'll be 14 weeks tomorrow! This was the only time I will visit New Orleans while pregnant so my family showered me with baby clothes. Since it's the first pieces of clothing for the baby it was a little emotional. I keep looking at the clothes and thinking, WOW, our little baby will fit in that one day.....it's so freaking amazing.

What I shouldn't have eaten but did: shrimp poboys, fried shrimp platter, snoballs, fried onion rings, and much more.

My sister did however choose a healthy restaurant one day so we got a break from the typical New Orleans food.

Now that I'm back home it's a mad dash to try to get our house re arranged. We have a house guest coming on the 10th of july and then we are out of town again for a week on the 15th.....then my birthdays on the 5th of August and the BIG boy or girl ultrasound) appointment is on the 11th of August.

So far the second trimester is treating me very well. I still feel like it's unreal since I can't feel the baby but I'm told very soon I'll start complaining that the kicks are keeping me awake =)

Monday monday monday.....

This weekend was full of fun-ness. We went to a friends house, played board games and ate ambrosia....yum. It was my first outing with my baby bump. I la la la loved it =)

For father's (to-be day) we went to the Venetian in Hillsboro. I had steak and veggies. I have been DYING for protein and steamed veggies. Since the hubby is vegetarian it doesn't make too much sense for me to cook two meals, so when we venture out I always like to get my fill. PLUS baby loves protein, right?!

We leave soon which means we have to fly 6 hours. booooo. BUT it's the big reveal to friends and family that don't know. I'll be 13 weeks in a couple of days so it's perfect timing!

In other news, we have to rearrange our entire home to accommodate our new little one. We figured the second trimester is when we need to do this while i'm still able to get up and down the stairs comfortably. We have 3 bedrooms but the 3rd and master is upstairs and is basically a converted attic with a full bath and library/reading nook. I LOVE it up there...but there's no way baby samuelson will be downstairs while mom and dad are upstairs SO we have to move our bedroom downstairs next to baby's. Upstairs will be a giant guestroom/ living room/ game room.

Good news is hopefully by the time my 3rd trimester rolls around I won't have to climb stairs. Which is fantastic since I climb them no less than 30 times a day. Also- less house to clean.

How I'm doing:

baby bump- bigger than most first time moms (no it's not fat). Seriously....don't call me fat.

headaches- none

nausea- I have my moments but for the most part gone.

hunger- non stop....not sure how I will manage to not become a whale.

Week 12 Appointment

Technically I'll be 12 weeks tomorrow, but my appt was today. Baby has a great strong heartbeat and is still snuggly tucked away. I know this because they pushed a little hard trying to find the heartbeat.

We will find out the gender on August 11th. Boy....summer sure is going to go slow now isn't it.

Over the moon that everything is going good. Grow Grow Grow little baby. We already love you so much.

Week 11 and a half (199 days to go!)

As I slowly get to my second trimester I am starting to feel back to my normal self.
Headaches: increased
Nausea: decreased (tremendously)
Cramps/ Growing Pains: on and off and never worse than a 2 on the scale of 1- 10.
Fatigue: constant still

I'm also addicted to what I like to call Heidi's bento plate.
cubed cheddar cheese
grapes
pineapple
crackers or bread
apples
(if it weren't on the caution list.....I'd be having some cold cuts on that plate)

Here's a pic of my baby bump.

Week 10 and 5 days

Well the world doesn't quite know about you yet. Our immediate family and some friends know but we are waiting until week 12 to share with the world.  I can't wait....this is the biggest secret I've ever had to keep!

Check back weekly for updates and pictures. Feel free to comment but please remember to be sweet.

Dear baby,
This week you are the size of a kumquat. You have also finished the most critical portion of your development! Way to go baby. You are now a fetus, you have fingernails and peach fuzz all over your body. You are swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm (mom can't feel you yet). You can also bend your limbs now (you can high five!) I think you're a girl and your dad thinks you're a boy. Well it's a 50/50 chance. I will be overjoyed whether you're a boy or girl!
